Bio-One of Las Vegas

James Herold is the owner of Bio-One of Vegas. He grew up on Long Island, NY, and moved to Las Vegas in 1998 to pursue an education in business. His venture into the world of business first began with a flooring installation and sales company. With extensive business knowledge, James seized the opportunity to become a member of the Bio-One family. He has found great success both professionally and personally since acquiring the business. He is dedicated to helping people find ease during a difficult time in their lives, as well as building and maintaining meaningful relationships with first responders and community members.

I’ve been living here since 1998, and I’ve always believed in helping people through challenging moments. I was led to this work by a family friend, and I’ve loved it ever since—because it’s about giving people real support when they don’t know where to turn.
This is not just a cleanup job. It’s about compassion, dignity, and doing what’s right. We’ve built relationships with law enforcement, first responders, and victims’ advocates because we’re here to help the community, not just do business.
Our motto is 'Help First, Business Second,' and we live by it every day. Whether it’s hoarding, trauma, suicide, or a severe biohazard situation, our role is to step in when it’s hard and bring calm, clarity, and care. That’s why I do this.

When you call Bio-One of Vegas, you’re not getting a call center—you’re getting me. I answer the phone, and I’m the one who’s going to guide you through what happens next.

First, I’ll listen. Then I’ll ask a few questions to understand what you’re facing. From there, we’ll decide together if you need emergency cleanup or an in-person walkthrough. There’s complete transparency from the very beginning.

I go over everything in detail—what we’ll clean, what needs to be removed, how we’ll handle it, and when we’ll arrive. If insurance is involved, I can help open the claim and work with the adjuster so you don’t have to.

You’ll know exactly what to expect, and we’ll follow through on every word. That’s how we work.

Discretion is one of the most crucial aspects of what we do, particularly in cases involving hoarding, trauma, or crime-related cleanups. Customers want to know how we’ll protect their privacy. We show up in unmarked box trucks and handle everything inside the property when possible.

We’re very careful not to draw attention. Even our personal protective equipment comes off indoors if we can.

We don’t just clean—we protect people’s dignity. We’ve worked with people who were scared of being fined or evicted. We’ve helped people who didn’t want neighbors to know what was going on.

There’s no judgment—ever. We’ve seen everything from A to Z, and our job is to help people feel safe, supported, and respected while we do our work.

One of the most memorable jobs we ever did was helping a woman who flew in from Minnesota after her mother passed away. Her mom had been living in a hoarder's situation, and it was a big cleanup that took about a week.

1We bonded over board games, which is a surprising thing to bond over. We still text and share game ideas to this day.

Another situation that really stuck with me was a tear gas cleanup. The homeowner wasn’t even involved—it was her roommate. But she was left with the damage and had no idea what to do.

We worked for over a week going through everything she owned to clean, sort, and safely remove what couldn’t be salvaged. She’s still displaced from that home, but we helped her take the first big step back toward normal.

That’s what makes this work meaningful—it’s about relationships and getting people through moments they didn’t ask for.

For us, the job’s not done until it’s all done. It’s not just the big stuff—we pay attention to the small details. We clean our way out, check everything with the customer, and make sure nothing is left behind.

I always do a final walkthrough with the client when possible. I want them to feel like they can walk into that space again without anxiety or fear.

If something needs adjusting or rechecking, we’re happy to go back and make the necessary changes. That’s just how we operate. We rarely get callbacks, but if something isn’t right, we make it right.

We don’t leave people hanging. We follow through all the way. That’s what makes Bio-One of Vegas different.

Stronger Communities
Start with Compassion

More than cleanup—it’s about community. We go beyond cleanup to support real people in real need. We’re not just here to clean. We’re here to care.

Bio-One works closely with first responders, local agencies, and community groups to help those facing crisis, loss, or trauma.

  • We support local efforts to promote safety and healing.
  • We show up when people need real help.
  • We give back however we can—because this work is personal.

No matter how we grow, our mission stays the same: Always put people first, help with heart, and do the right thing.

What our clients say

decontamination and biohazard cleaning services reviews
Kris Laczynski, Las Vegas, 1/6/2025
After many years, multiple moves (including 1 cross country), and a flood in the room above that destroyed my attempt at organizing, our garage was a disaster. I couldn't walk more than 3 steps into it and it was embarrassing and overwhelming. I knew there was trash in there but I also knew there was stuff I really wanted to keep in there, so just calling someone to haul everything away wasn't an option. Finally I hit the point of I have to do something and started looking up hoarder cleanup. I found recommendations for Bio-One and then I found the Vegas location. James and his team were fantastic! They were very comfortable to have around, enthusiastic hard workers, and reassured me constantly that really, it was ok. Literally the best money I spent this year. Thank you so so much guys!

Patrick and the crew arrived in a timely manner and were not only extremely professional but compassionate as well. They worked quickly and professionally and finished the job in what seemed like no time at all. They left the job spotless and made sure to pay special attention to the little details. I would absolutely recommend Bio-One to anyone. They seem to be able to do the tough jobs some of the other Bio crews in Las Vegas can't seem to do. They are always on time and they make you feel like you aren't just another customer. The owner, James is always available, night or day and is friendly and consistent, just like the crew is.
