Marc Garber, owner of Bio-One of Richmond, is a ninth-generation Virginian and father of three. Marc was born in Richmond and raised in Roanoke and Northern Virginia before returning to Richmond in 2002. Marc holds degrees from Radford University and George Mason University School of Law. With 20 years of experience working in healthcare, and 4 years of bio-hazard & hoarding experience, Marc is passionate about helping fellow Virginians in their time of need and contributing to the local community. He is an alumni of the Chesterfield Police Citizens Academy, and Hanover County Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT). Marc & his team love finding lost treasures and returning them to clients, as well as compassionately helping people who are experiencing tragedy - we can't fix everything, but we can take at least care of at least one issue or two, assisting with piece of mind. Favorite charities include Children's Hospital of Richmond, CARITAS Richmond, and Richmond Habitat ReStore (part of Habitat for Humanity). We often donate items clients don't need.
Many many many thanks to Mark and his wonderful team of professionals who took care of my father‘s home after his passing. The entire job was completed in five days and was conducted with the utmost dignity and respect. The home had a lot of stuff to clean out and sort through; and Mark and his team did an absolutely wonderful job going through each box, every drawer and every cabinet in order to see what should be kept and what could be thrown away. Not only did they do a fantastic job with the home, but I personally was able to help one of his workers with a solar system that we had installed and he was able to remove it safely and use it for his own. Thank you Mark for the amazing job that you and your team did!

I see why Mark has a 5 star rating. I had the pleasure of speaking to him over the phone. I have not used services as of yet as we are not sure of the course of action yet on my part. Mark spent a total of 32 minutes with me on the phone listening to my special situation, called a competitor of his thinking he may be better suited for the job, called me back to follow up for 15 more minutes. With the situation I have many people write others off as crazy or made up in your head, especially doctors, yes doctors of all people. Mark listened and offered suggestions and knew of one former client of his in the same situation. He cares about people in general and has empathy and compassion. In the even that I do need this type of service I will certainly use him and write another review but I felt just this interaction with him speaks volumes. Thank you Mark for being a listening ear and a compassionate caring empathetic human. You didn’t write me off when all others have. I thank you sir!

From my first contact with Marc everything was done professionally and compassionately. The crew of Chase, Cole, Chris, Sidney and Chloe went above and beyond my expectations. Everyone was willing to make changes as we went along out of compassion and understanding for my sister-in-laws. They even went so far as to try and capture the cat that had gotten into the crawl space under the house. After being with us for 2 weeks we all became friends. They handled the valuables and collectibles with the utmost care. I will have them back this summer for a finally clean out. I can't find the words to express how wonderful an experience we had with this company. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars isn't really enough!

I had a lot of rodent waste in my attic and knee walls under dormers. I called Bio One Richmond and Marc and Chase came to do the inspection and estimate. They both have a great personality and we’re very professional. Chase headed up the work and did a fantastic job. I was so impressed with his easy going personality and his work ethic. He had to remove lots of waste and insulation, spray, paint, reinstall insulation and plug gaps in the eaves in an extremely hot attic. He never once complained. His work was very neat and he cleaned up behind himself. I didn’t have to do a thing! And, on his way out he removed a fallen tree that was on my gate. He is the supervisor and sets a great example for his employees. I am so appreciative of a job well done! I highly recommend this company! I am a very happy customer!

Marc goes above and beyond in his assessment of your needs, even if you end up not needing his company. Between a phone consultation and on-site visit, he spent at least two hours examining our previous house for rodent activity. He thoroughly examined every room, including climbing around our attic and through the crawlspace, taking detailed photos/notes to explain his findings. I felt more than comfortable with the results after discussing everything with Marc, and truly appreciate the time he spent on someone who wasn't even a paying customer.
